About Shannon

Shannon Parris is an innovative management consultant who equips nonprofit leaders and entrepreneurs to realize their visions and achieve their goals. With a decade of experience working in nonprofits and small businesses, Shannon brings a practical, holistic approach to operations that prepares clients to grow sustainably.

She is a pragmatic accountability partner and empathetic coach, helping clients remove barriers, simplify processes, and protect their time. Shannon is passionate about developing the next generation of nonprofit leaders and entrepreneurs.

A former nonprofit program director at multiple organizations and a serial entrepreneur who has supported hundreds of small businesses, she knows that the people who are closest to the work often understand it best. Her approach blends strategic insight with practical guidance to support underrepresented leaders transitioning into new roles.

As a multiply-disabled, neurodivergent Korean adoptee who was raised in a predominantly white community, Shannon has a unique perspective on privilege and equity. She is most passionate about working to dismantle systems of oppression and to advocate for and galvanize nonprofit leaders and entrepreneurs with marginalized identities.

How I Work

For all my life, I have held two simultaneous, apparently opposing truths: I have a marginalized identity and an abundance of privilege. I am a minority in my community and part of the global majority. Being able to embody a paradoxically true place in society has led me to approach to my work in a way that is:

  • Direct and supportive

  • Holistic and efficient

  • Simple and effective

  • Process-driven and customized

  • Practical and deeply caring

It can be difficult to believe that two seemingly opposite things can co-exist, but experiencing is believing, which is why I offer a free 30-minute consultation to anyone who is considering working with me. I would love the opportunity to customize a process-driven solution to meet you where you are and get you where you’re going.

My Commitment to Equity

As the founder of Shannon Parris Consulting, I believe in creating a just and equitable society. I am committed to building a culture that promotes equity, inclusion, and belonging. I am dedicated to working towards a world where everyone has access to the same opportunities, regardless of their race, ethnicity, religious belief, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, sexual orientation, military/veteran status, color, national origin, creed, genetic information, family responsibilities, or any other characteristics protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

I acknowledge that systemic inequity and discrimination exist in our society, and I personally commit to addressing them in our workplace, in the communities we serve, and in our industry. I call out that equity is a condition where one's identity no longer statistically determines how one fares, and I believe that we must address the root causes of inequities, rather than their symptoms. I recognize that this work requires ongoing education, reflection, and action, and I am dedicated to continually learning and improving.

To fulfill my personal commitment to equity, I will:

  1. Cultivate a diverse and inclusive workplace that values the contributions of all team members.

  2. Evaluate my policies, practices, and processes through an equity lens and make necessary changes to promote fairness and inclusion.

  3. Partner with organizations and initiatives that share my commitment to equity and justice.

  4. Foster an environment where all team members and clients feel personally safe, respected, and valued, and where they can bring their whole selves to work.

I understand that this commitment requires ongoing effort and accountability, and I am dedicated to upholding these values as I work towards a more equitable future.

Get ready to move forward.
